Rhode Island EMT Programs
EMT Basic Course:
At the completion of this course the students that meet the state minimal requirements will be allowed to take the Rhode Island
State and National Licensure test to become certified NREMT-Basics. Students will learn skills in Basic Life Support, Respiratory Emergencies, Trauma Emergencies, vehicle extrication, and a new
section on Terrorism awareness as it pertains to EMS. There will also be sections on medication administration, use of Automated External Defibrillators, and ambulance operations.
EMT Basic & Cardiac Refresher Courses:
This course follows the state required standards for recertification at a student's licensure level. All Rhode Island EMT's are required to attend a refresher course for recertification of licensure.
These courses are valid for all EMT Basics and Cardiac's expiring in 2012.
